So I went to the surgeon

And Boy.... he was not a happy camper with me. Calories need to be decreased, I need a water pill for all the swelling I have ( am retaining lots of fluid).... and carbs need to be cut down. He wants me to lose 12-15 lbs over the next 3 months when I see him again. I've barely lost that since having the surgery. This is all so overwhelming. I cried last night when I finally got home. Don't get me wrong, Dr. was not mean, just concerned. He said by now, I should be down a whole lot more. I truly feel like I have wasted the first 122 days of having this tool.
So, instead of drowning in my own self-pitty, I woke up this morning with a fire in me, not only do I want to be down 12-15lbs by the time I see him again, I want to be down 40-50lbs. I mapped out all my food for the day, 50g carbs total for me. No true breads type products and no starchy veggies. I'm cutting out ALL processed foods, which is huge for me. I want this SO badly....I need to do this for my life.
I also plan on getting my *kitten* to the gym, starting tomorrow morning. I'd say today, but I work 945-700 today and my gym closes at 5pm. The natural remedy that Carly suggested is having an excellent effect on my back, so I will be able to do more.
Rant over..... Hugs, Cari

Did you make it to the gym yesterday? I know it won't be easy but you can do this!0

Nope. I forgot I had a high school grad party to go to. It actually monopolized most of the day. I think I am going to schedule my gym time as Wed, Fri, Sat, Sun.0

Yup its the season for grad parties and we have been busy with them as well. Do you have a set time of day you like to exercise? I have found I prefer to go in the mornings and I won't let myself do anything fun until I am done. Its good to set up a schedule that way you always know what to expect.0

Cari, I'm so sorry you got such disheartening news! I'm glad it lit the fire in you though. Processed foods can be really evil and addictive. I'm positively thrilled to hear that supplement is helping!!! That will be a godsend. I don't think the gym is the end-all-be-all, but I know it is the best of everything for so many folks.
I love hearing your ambitious goals and wish you the absolute best!0 -
Thanks Wendy... I don't have a set time yet. Thinking in the morning before work, but I'm not sure I can get up at 430 to be there at 5am. Mornings are rough. I'd love to do evenings as Reggie could go with me, encourage each other, push each other. Right now we walk together some evenings. He doesn't do well with this hot sticky weather so...and honestly neither do I.
Carly, Thank You. I agree... processed foods are the devil... BIG HUGE RED DEVIL with firey horns and all. I don't think the gym is the end all be all either, but they have Zumba classes at my gym that I'd love to do. That's mainly it.0 -

One of my favorite things about going Low Carb High Fat is that for the anti-morning person - MORNINGS GET EASIER....
And I speak from experience on this one!!! I'd generally rather be going to bed at 5 am than getting up, but these days getting up for work is getting easier and I'm more "bright-eyed" and "bushy-tailed" when I do... LOL0
