So I recently had my annual physical, and my doc was very pleased with my BP, Cholesterol, etc. However, apparently I am B12 and D3 deficient. The D3 was not a surprise since I am fair-skin and avoid direct sun. Does anyone take supplements for these? If so, what are you using? He's recommending 5,000 IU of D3 and 5,000 mcg of B12.

Several years ago I was D deficient. I take anywhere from 1000-4000 IU daily.

Follow your doctor's recommendation. He went to medical school and is trained to make recommendations. What I take is contingent on my blood work results and had changed over time and as I age.

@deltayork go with the 5000IU for now. I assume the doctor is planning to retest at a later date.

I started taking a daily supplement several years ago at my doctor's suggestion. In the Winter I take a higher dose since I'm not getting as much sunlight.

Sooo many different brands to pick from :). Ended up picking the top rated ones on Amazon.
