Lean and strong vs muscular symmetry

It's been debated since the early days of female bodybuilding. I can't recall who was on the opposing side but Rachel McLish was winning on the lean and sexy side. Beverly something or other may have been the opposition. Certainly, there are more examples of both in this day and time. It's not a debate I initiated but one initiated by a colleague.
