Body media fit...

Does anybody have one of these? I have turned into a bit of a gadget addict (double income, no kids!) and am thinking of adding this to the collection of garmins and fitbits that I own. I'm drawn to it as it more accurately works out the cal burn as it picks up the physical changes in the skin. Better than the fitbit. And the Garmin is for bike riding and running (which I've now given up. Running, I mean, not cycling, that's fun). Anyway, if you have one, is it comfortable, does it support your strength gains, is it worth the $$$? I will wait until after August as I read there's a waterproof one coming out then, perfect for when I walk the dog and throw myself into the river on a hot summer's day!
Thanks for your thoughts...

I have the link. Love it! I also have a Garmin and any other gadget I can possibly justify purchasing. So from that standpoint, I'd probably love it even if it sucked, but it doesn't. The info has been eye opening really. I find it comfortable. I don't know what you mean by supporting my strength gains though-so can't answer that yet. For me, it's very worth the $. I run, but all my other activity is not "step based", which is why I went with the arm band over the fitbit. It's totally worth it for me. And for those things where I get a calorie burn elsewhere (eg running with my Garmin), the calorie burns recorded by the armband are nearly identical. So I assume it's reasonably correct the rest of the time as well.

I'm still guessing what you mean by supporting strength gains, but I do stronglifts (obviously if I'm posting in here), and it records activity (and calorie burns) during my lifting sessions. I can post a link to my photobucket where I have pics of what all it does (info wise). Someone on my FL was considering taking the plunge, so I've got a photo spread. Lmk if you're interested in that.

Thanks. I'd love to have a look. Maybe I'm not sure what I mean about supporting my strength gains either! I guess I mean that it doesn't encourage you to under eat and be too weak to lift or grow muscles. Maybe I was wondering if it was accurate at recording the calorie. Burn. I imagine it would be, but my Experience with my Garmin watch for running has shown me that the calorie burn for cycling isn't accurate (luckily, I now have another Garmin for the bike!). I read that the body media fit wasn't accurate with cycling, but I have Garmin #2 for that.... Omg, how did people lose weight in the olden days, before groovy gadgets?!

I have the BodyMedia Link as well. LOVE it. I've been wearing mine for over a year now, pretty much 24/7 (take it off for showers and to charge a couple times a week). Thanks to it, I know for certain what I burn in a day and whether I'm "really" going over on my calories (nope...). In addition, being able to see, in real time, that I am burning a ton of calories during a workout or whatever is very motivating and keeps me on track. I actually found MFP because the BodyMedia site was advertising it as a partnership site. Now I sync between BodyMedia (to get detailed online/printed reports, if I want), MFP (for the community), and Withings (because I have the WiFi scale too).

    Yes, I'm a D.I.N.K. too (Dual-income, No kids).....
