Changing Battery in FitBit Zip

Hey guys......Sorry if this has been asked before but I'm curious. When the battery is low and needs to be changed, when you go to change it do you lose the steps from before you changed the battery? My battery indicator is flashing even tho on the dashboard it says I have 1/2 battery life left. It also will not sync with the app so I'm afraid I'll lose all the steps I'll have taken today. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks and happy day to you all. :)

Did you try resetting your Zip? http://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/How-do-I-restart-my-tracker
    1. Open the battery door using the battery door tool and remove the battery.
    2. Wait 10 seconds.
    3. Place the battery back into the tracker with the "+" side facing up, and close the door.

Your Zip is now restarted. You will see your tracker's version number, followed by a series of Fitbit Smilies. When you tap your tracker, it should work normally.

Thanks. No I hadn't tried that. Will have to give it a try. Will it keep my steps tho? But I guess it doesn't matter. Will have to replace the battery anyway.

Resetting your Fitbit doesn't wipe out your steps. I don't know about replacing the battery, though—I have a Flex & a Charge HR.

If you really have half a battery left, reset should stop the battery indicator from flashing.

Thanks. I changed the battery anyway cause it kept resetting my steps to 0. Idk what was wrong with it. But it's working fine now. Thanks for your help

I've gone through 3 batteries since march in my zip.
It won't erase the steps you did before, when you change your battery.
