Back when I was in college, Mellow Mushroom was pretty much an Atlanta only institution. Big floppy greasy pies. I haven't had them in ages, but they're here in Colorado.

Do you have them in your city? Anyone tried them recently?

There's one in one of the cities between Dayton and Cincinnati. I have to drive to Cincinnati four times next month, so I might check it out.

I love them. I like the Kosmic Karma. They brush their crust with butter and sprinkle it with grated parmesan and garlic for the last bit of baking. I've stolen that trick to use at home.

I always see this chain when we're in FL, but have never tried it. It always sounds appealing...because I love mushrooms. And pizza. And mushroom pizza.

I finally had my first one when I was in Charlottsville VA. Was nice. The crust was really really good. I was happy. Their appetizer selection is really broad and good- I ordered a pizza and my friend ordered all apps. So I got to try a few- she said the soup is great.

They are common in the south and when I lived in Nashville we used to go to one by Vanderbilt all the time. I loved it, they had a jerk chicken pizza that was great and some good salads. Husband was always put off by the fact that the dreadlocked servers looked like they hadn't bathed in weeks...

I've been to that one. It's pretty good stuff.
