Beans

I came across an article which states that having low GI food like beans raises insulin level for longer period of time since they absorb slowly... is it true?
If yes then is it bad for people with high insulin resistant like me?

I'm insulin resistant, and I don't look for low GI foods, as I'm eating a mainly ketogenic (very low carb, high fat, moderate protein) diet. Foods like this are too high of carb for me, (they trigger postprandial somnolence badly for me)...so I don't have much experience first hand or in research. Maybe someone else will be better able to answer.0

It is a slower release, to my understanding. Instead of raising your blood sugar fast for small amount of time, foods like this raise your blood sugar moderately for a longer time. You don't have blood sugar spikes the way you would with a high GI food, so it's better for you. I mean... Anytime you eat you raise your blood sugar. That is ok! It's how we stay alive. However, people with insulin problems need to keep their blood sugar more level over time.0

Oh, and that diet was recommended to me by my endocrinologist specifically to help with my insulin resistance, hypothyroidism, and PCOS - just to note.0
