Good morning. Hope everyone is doing well. I have to admit, I'm feel better, not great yet, but better since I started watching my carbs, put my D3 and B12 back in my diet and also started taking my anti-depressents 4xs a day. I don't even know if the D3 and B12 are helping yet or the fact I have a plan and feel more in control that's making the shift in mood. I did see my therapist last night. Cried in her office for 45 minutes, and that felt awesome just getting it out. I will readily admit that having a plan in place does help.
Well, I am off to go thru some more of the 1001 low carb recipe cookbook I got in the mail. Have a great day everyone!!

I love hearing this!! Sincerely, it makes me smile. Generally, everything works together to weave your tapestry...so I wouldn't discount anything.
Last night, after my PT appointment (torture, mind you), my guy and I got to meet up with friends and we ate at a buffet (which awesomely custom made pizzas - mine with no crust and all the yummies loaded up!!) and it was so great. We hadn't seen them in about 6 months, so we were there for nearly 3 hours. And it was AMAZING...0 -
Carly, 3 hours at a buffet, WOWZA.. I would have gone batty. But it sounds like you did great and had great fun which is the most important part. Good for you!!!0

Luckily I was in side room, and the smells weren't overwhelming. They made me a full medium sized pizza minus the crust. I ate every last morsel quite happily! LMBO Plus two plates of salad - well one of salad (no dressing - they didn't have any I liked) and one of tomatoes and cucumbers. I was in hog heaven!
Oh, and my friend and I decided we were the incredible shrinking women. I've lost about 40 pounds since she'd seen me last, and she had lost about 20!0 -
Carly, I wrote something about this the other day, about how eating with friends shifts the focus of the meal from being just about the food--I mean, the food was still good, but with the company, it was better. I need to make more of my meals this celebratory and remember eating as a sacred ritual that nourishes us.0

So glad you are on the up Cari, long may it last. Carly kudos on the buffet success.
I'm in pain! My left shin is really sore, am icing it but thinking a rest day might be in order after working out 4 days straight0 -
Lise, hoping that the shin pain eases soon. I've had shin splints. They do hurt.0

Was it a blog post here or something? I'd absolutely love to read it.
For me, celebrations used to be ABOUT the food. And splurging across the board. I have to say that eating the way I am now really clicks, because there was zero temptation of going off plan. Honestly, my biggest question to myself was how many veggies I wanted to eat. Nothing was tempting in the carb laden goop section, and the sweets section couldn't even entice me for a closer glance. That kind of freedom is earth-shattering for me.maoribadger wrote: »So glad you are on the up Cari, long may it last. Carly kudos on the buffet success.

Thanks! And yeah, shin pain/shin splints suck!! Have you had your magnesium checked recently? Might be something to bring up at your next doc appt.... I find that despite always thinking potassium was the end-all for muscle/tendon stuff, my body has always done well with the potassium/sodium balance (according to bloodwork), but my magnesium is deficient, and supplementing it has helped way more with muscle cramps/pains!0
