10,000 step challenge! I'm in anyone else?

Hi all, sorry I haven't been here in a while been so busy it's crazy. Although I think I might of landed a new job so things might change for the better once that happens! Second interview is Monday night. So much more money so i'm doing the happy dance conservatively for now. Anyways I've started the 10,000 step challenge. I've been doing it for five days now. You need to walk at least 10,000 steps a day, it's easier then you think, thank goodness, between walking at work and then about an hour and half of walking with the dog/on my own, and after work, I usually can log the 10,000, twice this week it was almost 15,000 and one day i'm sad to say it was only about 3600 and that was on Canada Day, too busy enjoying the day versus walking. So my thinking is lets see who else will join me in this challenge? Any takers?

Yeah, my watch tracks my steps and this week I got close to 20000 on two days. How do you log it though?0
-
Wow that's amazing, i'm working towards a little bit more every day. I use my phone to track it and it shows me how fast i've been walking as well so I can log that into the exercise portion of the fitness pal. I am trying to sync it with the site but so far haven't done that. I just challenge myself no need to log it anywhere except as exercise. I have a desk job so walking doesn't happen all that much at work and if I get this new job the walking in the office will be even less as it's more compact then the other place. Congrats on doing so well!0

Thanks, I was on holiday as and relying on public transport so walking to stations and such like. I generally get to 10 000 as my job is quite active and training twice a day in to of that. I don't log it as specific exercise because I use the TDEE calorie method so don't eat my calories back. I like keeping the record to see how well I do, but that info is all on the Polar website. We can just check in on here regularly to see how we are doing. So far today I am at 11 600ish!0

I'll join in too ladies. I found my pedometer recently and I've been walking in some sessions - happy to say I am usually close to the 10,000 steps but I've hit over 18,000, 20,000 and 21,000 this past week. My poor feet - need to get new shoes with more cushioning because they are definitely taking a pounding LOL0

My stats for this week are: starting with Monday: 13099, 11803, 11569, 10594, 12133, 6055 (Sat & Sun were rest days as I pushed really hard this week, so I am happy with whatever results I end up with on those days.)0

I did a week in August when we walked 124 km in 6 days on the road. I had so many blisters and ended up losing 4 toenails with one getting badly infected, but it was for the penguins so I will do it again! The trick is getting the right shoes and socks apparently!0 -
Wow - that's impressive! But your poor feet - you really suffered. Hope it's all healing now for you though.0
-
Yeah, totally healed now although I haven't got my toenails back yet. It was great fun and a huge adventure. Made good friends doing it and helped save the cute little birds I work with!0

I managed 7,882 steps and 4.2km on Sunday - no walking yesterday though. If it stops raining I'll see what I can accomplish today.0

My latest stats are:
Sunday - 5907 (rest day)
Monday - 11207
Tuesday - 12528
Wednesday - 130160 -
I've forgotten to log my steps the past couple of days will do better this upcoming week. You're doing great though - keep going!0

Yesterday I managed to get for a decent walk again and I managed 10, 646 steps and 5km. We've been getting lots of rain and have more on the horizon which may make my daily walks sporadic this upcoming week, but I will do my best.0

This past week has been limited by holiday, knee issues and freezing miserable weather. Back to normal routine next week...0 -
Hi all, sorry I haven't been posting this week but the weather here has been lousy and we've had rain, rain, and more rain for days on end. That impacts me getting outdoors to walk because of balance issues. I did manage 5,039 steps yesterday and I hope to get outdoors again today with luck. CB, you've had a great week. Well done!0

Captain, you are doing amazing. We've had lots of rain that have definitely impacted my ability to get out there everyday as I'd hoped. Just got back from a weekend with my two friends, so it's back to my daily step challenge today and I am happy to see some sunshine as well. Keep up the great work!
Sun Aug 17th - I managed 6437 steps0 -
Thanks. I find it interesting to see all the numbers listed here. Most of my training happens indoors so even the bad weather doesn't slow me down.

Hi all am I too late to join in? Pacer logs my steps and syncs with fit pal though some days it can be a bit unreliable but I'd still like to join the challenge0

Wow you ladies have been doing awesome, and it's never too late to join. I honestly have been so busy with events, functions and work that i'm exhausted at night and have been sorely lacking in the walking department, but starting slowly again as my poor knees are killing me. Kepp up the good work, and i'm backkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm lucky if I hit 5000 steps at the moment, but then I am on knee surgery recovery so I am not supposed to be walking around too much!0
