Increasing mm-drop... still need to acclimate?

A lot of people ask about how to acclimate or adjust to a lower mm-drop shoe from something that's more 8-12+ mm heel-toe drop range to a 0-4mm drop. However, I'm transitioning from running solely in Saucony Kinvaras (4mm) to Saucony Rides (8mm) for longer runs. Because I'm increasing the drop rather than decreasing, do y'all think I should have much of an adjustment period? I've done some 7-12 mile runs in them so far, and though I can tell it's a bit more shoe than the Kinvara, I'm not sure there's that much adjusting to be done. However I don't want to be overzealous and cause myself problems down the road. Anyone else gone from a low-drop to medium-drop shoe that can put in their two cents? Thanks!

I am doing this Exact! Thing. I did not need any transition time. I just started right up using the rides for long and recovery And the kinvara for easy+strides and all tempo or pace work. I use the TypeA-6 for track work .

The caution to move to a lower drop shoe was solely (pardon the pun) because the Achilles would have to stretch more due to the increased range of motion of the heel.
If you're decreasing the amount that the Achilles will stretch, the only long term issue will be the eventual diminution of the amount of stretching that the Achilles can comfortably withstand.
