Garmin Connect finally Admits Defeat

Just opened my GC "dashboard" this morning and was greeted with a big orange square where the "Garmin Segments" box used to be - Garmin Connect will now link to your Strava Account and pull into Garmin your "Starred" Segments...

I understand that there's an update to the firmware of the 510, 810 and 1000 head units that will give live Strava Segment alerts on the 'bars as you ride... bet they don't roll it out for the 800 so I can take advantage of it.

    that's how it works now since garmin started working with strava, but currently only with the 520 and 1000 (which have the Garmin/Strava Segments already "in situ") - the update from Garmin is supposed to be for the 810's firmware, to allow it to work in the same way... problem is, we all know every time Garmin patch one bit of the firmware, they break another bit. It's almost as if they just rewrite all the code for everything, every time as one big monolithic chunk, rather than it being properly structured.

    Yeah, I saw the 'simplified' version shortly after posting my post...

    So, I'm still waiting for a firmware update then [roll eyes] :/
