I'm getting to the point where adding 5 lbs might be too much on some lifts. What do other people do to add smaller amounts? Not sure my gym has anything smaller than 2.5. Did you buy mini plates?

You can buy fractional plats on Amazon (or locally at a sports store). They go down to 0.25 pounds up to 1 pound (so you could add 0.5 pounds up to 2 pounds instead of 5 pounds). They may go up higher than 1 pound, but I don't have those nor did I shop for those.

I bought fractionals. I have also heard of people using large washers with a 2" hole. You would need to weight those though, as there is no standard weight. I have heard of people gluing them together to make 1.25 lb weights with them. Never tried it myself though.
