I am going to start working out at 5am and I wondering what you do for food? Do you eat before, after, during? I work out from home so I am pretty flexible.

I eat after. Occasionally I will have a couple of jelly beans during if I start feeling icky during my workout. That generally only happens if I ate poorly the day before.

For a while there I'd gotten myself used to eating something small and craby before the workout (Rice Krispies squares, granola bar, banana). I kind of used it as a mini cheat where I would eat a small portion of something I craved because that's when I have the most self control AND also I know I can't eat too much else I feel crappy.

But as it turns out I still perform better on a fully empty stomach and then not eating allows me to do Intermitten fasting which is good for fat loss in my case, so I'm back to working out fasted now.

You just gotta try it and see how you feel with either options. If I may give you some advice though: dairy and fiber are not very good choices right before a workout xD Especially if you have any form of lactose intolerance.

Thanks for the suggestions! I decided to have a greek yogurt this morning. I am working hard on upping my protein so I thought it would be a good start.

I work out at 5am. Whether is SL5X5 or running I don't eat anything. Some water that's it. After my workout I eat. Since it's breakfast time it's something with eggs because I love eggs. :)

I work out at 5.30am and only have a pre-work out (C4). Works fine for me as long as I have a decent dinner the night before.
