30 Day Shred?

Did anyone do 30 Day Shred during pregnancy? If so, how far into the pregnancy did you continue with it? I have also couple of prenatal workout DVDs, but they do nothing for me. Maybe because I’m still in early stages (7-8 weeks). I really like 30DS, I’m just not sure whether some of the exercises are safe, like jumping jacks or anything that involves jumping up and down? Also, are abs exercises safe during the pregnancy?

The jumping up and down should be fine, especially at this stage. Ab exercises are usually ok in the first trimester, but after that you're supposed to avoid being flat on your back (so no crunches etc). Other than that you should be fine, if you feel like you shouldn't be doing something then modify the exercise to something you know is ok.

Remember you should always check with your doctor :-)

I'm doing ab exercises (in my first trimester) and I'll keep doing them until it feels uncomfortable. I'm particularly focusing on squats, because being able to squat well really helps with birthing. I think in-shape abs help with that too, for that matter.

I'm not doing 30 day shred. I've done it before but not for a while and I think it would be too much for me to start now. But YMMV. I don't think any of the exercises are dangerous, its just pretty strenuous all together. First trimester mamas can do almost anything though. My last pregnancy, I just kept doing whatever i wanted until it felt uncomfortable.

I'm focusing on my strength right now. Being strong helps with birthing and also baby care. Giving birth and the first year was totally exhausting last time and I hope to have more endurance this time if I'm stronger.

I am at 20 weeks, I have been doing running, plyometric exercises and ab exercises all throughout my pregnancy so far. Just now I am starting to have to modify some of that due to my growing belly.
