I am training for my first 1/2 marathon! Yay! I trained about 2-3 years ago but never made it due to a inflamation issue with my heart. I am back into training and currently ran a 10 k about 3 weeks ago. I am since before that race having ankle pain in the medial area around my ankle bone down to my arch. I started using the kinesiology tape and that helps some but not all the way. Any tips?? I think it may be from the road runs I have in my routine.

If it's serious enough to affect how you run, and a week of rest doesn't make it better, it's time to have a medical professional check it out. Something like that might be serious . . . or it might be something that you can correct with appropriate adjustments. The trick is, without being sure exactly what is wrong, you don't know what the appropriate adjustments are.

Right now, I'm just a week back into speed work after having spent 4 weeks of nothing but running easy and other adjustments for an ankle sprain. If I'd tried to do this on my own instead of seeing my podiatrist and following his advice, I might still be getting better; but it would take a lot longer. Some of the stuff he had me do, I would not have figured out on my own.
