Do you feel safe when running?

Yesterday, I was running on the side streets in my neighborhood, and was almost hit by a car, truck, and flying debris. I was just reaching an intersection, which is usually very quiet, when a truck came flying across, hitting a car travelling up the street. The car spun around, the bumber went flying along with other parts, and the truck continuted to barrell across. Luckily, I was able to dodge everything flying around, and everyone in the vehicles seemed okay. I don't even remember continuing home, or know how I made it as I was shaking so badly and my heart was racing. I'm still shaking today.

Now, I'm almost afraid to run outdoors again. There's a park near my house with a half mile loop, but that gets a little boring and spooky if I'm runing early or late. Then there are the main streets, but I hate breathing in exhaust fumes.

Where do you run?

Just go back to it and don't let the fear win. It has probably been years since the neighborhood had an accident, and likely will be years before it does again. Glad you weren't hurt too.

My goodness what a nasty experience for you!

But I guess that's a very unusual occurrence - it doesn't happen every day, right?
