Secondary heart block?

This morning I got a vet check on a little mare I'm hoping to purchase. The vet said she had a secondary heart block, but didn't seem overly concerned. Do any of you have any experience with this? I'm planning to do some light dressage and low HJ with her. I'd like to do trails and was considering endurance riding (but I've never done it before). Would this heart condition prevent that?

A Google search seems to indicate the proper phrase is "second degree heart block" and it doesn't appear to be serious. It sure didn't stop her from putting on a show in the round pen!

Glad it's not serious. I didn't even know what it was.

I'd never heard of it either. It's just a mild arrhythmia that goes away with exercise. Her heart skips a beat at rest, but is normal after a few minutes of trot. Basically, her idle speed sucks. ;)

Interesting. Did you decide to buy her or pass?

Thanks! She's a doll. I mean, she's still a mare, but she's pretty sweet and willing most of the time.

Thank you. She's 10 years old, but she's only been under saddle for about a year now. There are lots of firsts ahead of us. I took her over her first ground pole (which was terribly suspicious!) and yesterday we had our first trail ride. It took 5-6 tries to get her to cross a little water along the side of the road. And when she did, she jumped it! Too funny!
