I have taken Synthroid for 18 years when I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. Last year I was tested for Lupus because of redness to my face. My ANA came back positive but I had no other symptoms of Lupus. So my doctor sent me to a Rheumatologist that diagnosed me with Hashimoto's last summer. He just keep taking my Synthroid. So this week I had my labs drawn and my doctor's office called me two days later and told me to stop taking my Synthroid until I'm seen in the office on Wednesday. The secretary said my labs are low (so I'm thinking it's my TSH but not positive). My T3 and T4 are normal. It scares me to stop a medication that I've been on for 18yrs. Has this ever happened to anyone?

I was diagnosed more than 3 years ago with Hashimoto's (autoimmune thyroid disease), and my dosage stabilized about a year ago. But my endocrinologist still checks my levels every six months.

Synthroid (synthetic T4) doesn't leave your bloodstream overnight. You should be fine not taking it for a few days per your doctor's order. Don't be afraid to ask your doctor lots of questions, though.
