I saw a list of fasting "one liners" on Dr. Jason Fung's Website. It was really cool. But, I can't find it now, so I'll try to do it by memory. I like to contrast it to exercising. I'm not saying exercising is bad, its just that fasting can be an "alternative" to lose weight easier than doing long workouts at the gym.

Water Fasting:

Requires little planning, start any time (as opposed to going to the gym)
Very affordable. It costs very little (water is cheap).
You can fit it into your schedule, because it doesn't need any time! No meal prep. No long gym sessions. No waking/jogging for hours...You can get more things done while fasting.
Very low calorie (zero).
Very low carbs (zero).
Its hard to get "injured" doing it.
It "energizes" you! Your metabolism goes up 3% ~ 5% (burn that fat!)
You don't have to "go anywhere" to practice it. Saves gasoline!
There's no equipment, bicycles, dumbbells or mechanical devices to have to use in order to do it.
There's no vitamins, drugs, or other "extra curricular" things you need to take to do it. Maybe salt, but you do that everyday anyway when non-fasting.
Produces lots of ketones, the ultimate keto diet.
Helps cure fatty liver.
Helps cure Diabetes 2.
Helps with insulin resistance.
Gives your digestive system a rest.
You can easily break stalls.
You can lose a lot of weight in a short period of time. :)

If you can think of some more, post them and I'll incorporate them here...
