Headed to Virginia mountains for a couple of days to view the changing leaves. Eating out for 3 days. But we are going to bike the Virginia Creeper Trail and do some hiking.

Canadian Thanksgiving is over. I would have done just fine. Focused on high-protein turkey and veggies. Gave up mashed potatoes in favour of home-baked buns. Only had a handful of chips.

And then Grandma whipped out the homemade pies. You don't say no to Homemade Grandma Pie. Ever.

That would have been tough for me...potatoes or buns...and then pies... you did well Angelfire, you did well.

I swear the only reason I do alright through the holiday season (food wise) is because I don't celebrate them. I don't make a big feast meal, I don't visit with anyone who does, I'm not near family, I don't have a social circle, so for me the holidays are just other days.

However; I manage to splurge quite frequently all year round.. It's why I lose slowly, but it keeps me from feeling too deprived. I told myself I'm only doing stuff I can keep on doing forever. Nothing is going to be "just for awhile, until I'm thin." I've been at that temporary rodeo enough.

I want to live my life in a healthful way and that means changing all sorts of habits and behaviors and practicing them.

Eninad-I agree it has to be something you can keep doing, if its to extreme or way out of your normal, you will not continue. I have lost weight before and went back to old habits and the weight, comes back fast. I feel counting calories keeps me from over eating too much. Before I never realized just how many calories I was eating, especially with mindless snacking on chips or wheat crackers. One thing I did not like is eating too much to where my stomache hurt, that use to happen on occassion, but now it doesn't happen. Janice

Shirley........I found it by going to the more screen. Then click on help. Then I went to FAQ/feedback. Next click on MFP support articles. It will then pop up with a bunch of questions. One is my streak counter is incorrect. Click on that and follow what it says. I hope this helps
