Ive recently started walking! I want to keep at it while the weather is still good! I am trying for 45 mins 3 times a week!0

I installed the C25K app today and did day 1 tonight!
I'm going to try to do 3 days straight, rest, then start week 2. My walking pace was 5.5-6 and running pace was 7.5-8.5. I want 20 lbs more gone!0 -
Jogging was where I started! That and this leg routine I found on a fitness blog that was called "your best butt ever" hahaha. It was a killer though!! I really dislike jogging at first. I was slow, everything hurt and it was just miserable. I ended up doing some reading to try to make it suck less. Turns out, a great pair of shoes makes a world of difference! I've never spent $80 on shoes before but I was desperate and the difference they made was night and day. I also found and article about the way you tie your shoes for your foot because my toes were consistently going numb. That solved the rest of my foot problem! Gradually I got stronger and faster and the weight was falling off, which eventually fixed the other problems I was having with my knees and hips aching. I love running now. It's my go to exercise when I've had a bad or stressful day. It's the one thing I have complete control over at the end of the day and it's really a huge stress reliever. Be persistent! It'll pay off in the end!0

Man, I needed to hear that! I just started jogging today, and WOOF. Are you supposed to get an ice cold stitch in your chest from running indoors?! How miserable! I'm counting on you being right, because I think I could really come to love running (given the time for my lungs to catch up)! Thanks!0 -

Ugh, I'm so disheartened!!
I walked/jogged the treadmill for 30 minutes on Monday, and I really, really, REALLY hurt in my chest by the end of it (we're talking curled up in the fetal position heaving for a half hour post workout). Stabbing, icy pain with gasping, coughing, can't breathe pain! What a nightmare! And it hurt all day yesterday... I figure I'll take it easy on myself today and do another 30 minutes mainly fast walking, and once my heart rate really got going the SAME THING HAPPENED! I had to stop after 15 minutes because I couldn't breathe! -_-
I'm regulating my breathing by either 2x2 or 3x3 to calm down erratic breathing, making sure to breathe through my nose as well as mouth to warm the air, exercising indoors out of the cold... And still this icy stab to the heart that takes my breath away after 5 minutes?! Is this normal?? I feel like such a wimp! My legs aren't even sore, but my chest has already tapped out! -_-0 -

If it take a bit for your heart to go back to resting rate, you may want to see a doctor for potential high blood pressure. I had similar symptoms when I was with a personal trainer and he made me stop in my tracks and go to the doctor THAT DAY. I had high blood pressure and didn't even know it. I was 42 at the time. Icy stab to the heart is also something to get checked. Go slow!0
