Anyone doing the PF Changs Half or Full in 2014?

I'm signed up for the full. Hope my training holds up. Had to cancel my last race because of an achilles strain.

Hi! I'm Beth from Mesa. I'm signed up for the Ventura Beach half marathon on September 8th. Depending on how I do between now and then, I'd be interested in doing the PF half. I'm closing in on my 50th, and have really been loving Jeff Galloway's run/walk/run method (I've been doing his program for 9 weeks--injury-free!). Good luck with your training. I'd love to know your thoughts/ideas on how you manage your long runs when it's soooo hot!0

My half training run is November (the Phoenix 10k and Half) so I don't have to start my training until September luckily when it gets a little cooler and I can run in the afternoons... Till then I wake up at 5 2-3 times a week and run as much or as little as I want... I get so burned out on training in the fall (even though I love running) that I try to just run for fun during the summer... Also I go to the gym 2-3 times a week and do a strength training cycle on the eliptical or stair stepper and do tons of lunges and squats to increase my leg strength... I hate doing this while i'm in training as much or as hard because it slows down my training runs so summer is the perfect time to improve my strength0
