A new challenge is always exciting. You have a chance for a new beginning. I'd like to welcome all the new members to this challenge. You will find that for the first couple of weeks the volume of posting on the thread is overwhelming. Some members can and do post and reply to everyone, you probably won't be able to but don't let that stop you from posting your 100% and questions.

Creating a Classic
When you think of the term "classics," what do you think of?
Some would say music—classic rock, for example. Others may think of literature (“the classics”) or even TV. But the common denominator in each answer is that there is a sense of nostalgia. Maybe you think fondly of songs you remember growing up, long for sitcoms that were as good as those you remember from the 70s. (Where have you gone, Hawkeye, Meathead and Fonzie?), or yearn for “real” sports heroes of yesteryear.

The key with any “classic,” though, is that it stands the test of time—its quality is that good. In literature, classic novels such as The Great Gatsby can still have meaning in 2011; in music, classic albums like The Joshua Tree still sound groundbreaking, TV shows like Cheers still have us laughing, and flicks like Jaws will keep us watching, terrified, over and over again.

This week, we’re showing that you your weight loss can be a “classic,” too—a great feat that will be fondly remembered years down the road. After all, this is a big turning point for you, a rebirth. But the pitfalls of this particular season, such as Halloween and Thanksgiving, can be quite the challenge to this effort. However, if you can be strong enough to avoid the upcoming short-term landmines while keeping an eye on your long-term goals, you’ll be taking a big step toward doing so.

Think of it this way. The “classics” that make you wax nostalgic always manage to put a smile on your face. Just imagine what it will be like when, months or years from now, you look back on this time—the time when you took control of your weight and your life—and made it your own classic.

And imagine how big your grin will be then.

]color=red] 100% 10/22 [/color=red] Did my walking yesterday in the mall last evening. Probably 15 minutes worth only but my knee can tell. Nothing like walking on concrete floors. Bought a pair of pants too that are flannel lined. I always wanted a pair of those. Nothing like having LL Bean here to be able to get a pair. Babysitting the child who hates me today. Taking my lunch with me since I don't know what they have to eat over there.
At the grocery store I looked at some Kind nut bars and they are almost identical to the new dessert that NS has.
Here are the stats for the Kind dark chocolate nuts and sea salt bar:
    Calories: 200
    total fat:15 gm
    Sodium: 125 mg
    carbs: 15 gm
    fiber: gm
    Sugar: 5 gm
    Protein: 6 gm
