I am 30 years old and have always been a big girl. I got in a bad marriage and had two kids. This just made me bigger. I ate because I was bored, sad, hurt, and depressed. I got to 500 lbs. I started to try anyway possible to get out of the relationship with my kids. I moved away one day with them. Since then I have been losing weight. In 2011 I had child number 3. I weighed in at 375 pounds. Since then I have I got down to 304 lbs on my own. I just signed up at 24 Hour Fitness and I am doing slim for life. That was three days ago. I weighed myself yesterday and I am now down to 295. I still have a long road to go. But *Yay* I broke the 300 mark! Note: I did not lose the weight, I threw it away. I never want to find it again, therefor, I did not lose it.

I hear you there. I had a quote on my page for a long time that said, "I'm not losing weight. I'm getting rid of it. I never want it back again." Or something like that. LOL
I, too, gained a ton of weight in a miserable marriage, but only one kiddo. I'm down from my heaviest of 319 (per my doctor's scales, anyway, dunno legit what it was because I didn't WANT to know) to 246 this am (again). There are lots of ladies and gents here who know just where you're coming from.
I joke that my weight loss started by getting the 265 pound weight off my back that was my ex-husband.... It's sadly true. But, freeing all the same. Wishing you be best of continuing good things in your life. Congrats on making it this far!!!!0 -

Everything is happening at once now. I started to eat right and now the pounds are melting away. I have three job interviews this week. I graduated from my course in Medical billing and coding. I am continuing this week for my associates. I am buying a nice car. So much stuff happens when you turn your life around.

That's such a great feeling. And yes, when we put the time, effort, and energy into properly caring for ourselves, we get great returns! Good luck on everything coming up!0

The dreaded plateau... very frustrating. No weight loss this time. Worked out even harder.0

Four days is not a plateau. Keep doing what you are doing and it will come off. Especially if you are working out even harder, that can cause some water retention that will eventually come off in time.0
