I don't know what is going on, but suddenly over the past week I am crazy low all morning long. I have reduced my basal rates from midnight to 10am 3 times in 3 days and still running in the 60s. I've been T1 for 30+ years so making adjustments isn't new to me. Just can't figure out what is going on that would change them so dramatically. Especially since this is when I should be having dawn Phenom....
Just wanted to vent....I'm tired of eating glucose tabs all night. Happy that in insulin requirements are getting lower but perplexed as to why or how....Thanks!

I've had similar rapid changes in insulin needs, but typically 20's and not consistent for several days... just one day I can't keep my blood sugar high enough.0

This is annoying and crazy strange. Usually as soon as I wake up I rise. Not today, been hovering in the 50s even with temp basal of 50%. That was after I reduced my basals and still have to do a temp basal to try to bring it up. Also ate breakfast and lunch without a bolus. Granted my meals only had 20g carb but that should have caused a rise. I haven't exercised since Friday so its not from that. I am trying to lower carbs to lower weight so some reduction in bolus is expected but I didn't expect to need to reduce my basals especially since I'm eating more protein which many folks have to bolus for. Hopefully I get this normalized soon since I'm going out of the country for work this Friday.0

You really don't have much time to do good basal testing, but that would be the logical thing to try.0

Almost got it figured out. Not sure why but my dawn phenom seems to have miraculously disappeared in a matter of days. Now just doing a flat basal rate for 24 hours. Blood sugar upon waking was 68 instead of 50s and I think with further reductions in basal I should be in the low 90s tomorrow.0
