... for the calories/macros i'm consuming?
Hi everyone!
I've posted before and want to thank you all for this group and all the information shared. :flowerforyou:
I've been doing Stronglifts for almost 2 months now. :drinker:
I started with a personal trainer 3x a week for 12 sessions. I signed up for 12 more sessions, at 2x per week, so i can "ween" myself from the trainer by doing the 3rd workout on my own along with cardio days.
I lurk on the forums for most of my workday, M - F. I rarely logon during the weekends. :frown:
I've learned that i should eat enough to "Fuel" my workouts. However, I don't feel that 3 strength training days, are enough to burn all the calories i'm eating. Granted, i don't eat the "right" foods always, but if i allow myself a Sweet Treat, i will do cardio to minimize the damage.
My clothes aren't any looser! I just read another thread where a young lady posted she didn't notice any change until 3 - 4 months. :frown: I can wait that long to see results, but I WANT to see results.
So my question is.
Am i doing enough to see results within 3 - 4 months, with my calories and macros?
I've opened my Diary to the public for the first time since I joined MFP. Please be kind. :flowerforyou: I know I'm a Sugar Addict. I'm working on it.
My stats:
45 y/o female, 5'4", Weighed 155 on April 29, 2013 (I really dislike weighing myself).
Numbers:
Deadlift - 115
Squat - 95 (going up tomorrow)
OHP - 55
Bench - 65
Rows - 65 (going up tomorrow)
Cardio: Rollerblade, Rowing machine, Stairmaster and walking (40 - 50 minutes, at least 2x a week).
I hope i communicated my question clearly.
Thanks All :flowerforyou:
FYI, I haven't let my trainer measure me again because i'm afraid i'll give-up, if i see an increase instead of decrease. :frown:

Hi Biker! Thanks
I just posted this in the Exercise forum cause i didn't think anyone was around.
I don't eat a whole lot more, but i do eat more restaurant foods on the weekends. I usually skip breakfast and use those calories to make up for the bad stuf i eat.0 -

I think you answered your own question in your OP. Sorry to be blunt but get your diet right, stop eating sugar/crap then trying to "exercise" it off. I can't see your food journal so can't comment on macros, just going by your post.0 -
Hey spicy!!
Actually, if you post your thread on over to here:
http://www.myfitnesspal.com/forums/show/10067-eat-train-progress-
... they'll probably be able to help you out much better.
Most of us are well-enough informed about these things to know what works for us, but Sara and SideSteel are pretty much experts when it comes to nutrition and training.
There's a sticky up top of that group that you'll need to fill out if you want detailed answers, so just FYI.
Good luck!
Also, they're pretty busy so if they take a little while to get around to you, just be patient please.
Also, according to this web site: http://www.fat2fitradio.com/tools/bmr/
Your TDEE is roughly 2200 calories/day at moderate activity level (which you're at ... if not heavy). I plugged in your numbers and that's the result I got. Just to give you a ballpark.0 -

Thanks Dani! I'll go to that thread.
Thanks a for doing that calculator for me. :flowerforyou:0 -

No problem, Leadfoof. I can take it. :flowerforyou:
Just want to add. I'm wanting to lose 10 -15 lbs. Not compete. lol. I working on cleaning it up a bit.0 -
So you are pretty much at my goal weight and we are the same height. The calculators give me about 2,100 for my maintenance calories at your weight & activity level... But without knowing what your LBM is, it's not necessarily an apples-to-apples comparison.
I think the first thing that Sara and SideSteel will tell you is to log your food very accurately for a couple of weeks so that you can do some calculations. It's impossible to really *know* what you need to do unitl you have good data to work with.
Good luck -- hope you'll keep us updated on how it is going for you!0 -
Yep, don't be surprised when Sara and SS tell you to weigh and log everything for at least 2 weeks.
Consistency in diet and logging will help you meet your goals. Exercise for fitness, diet for weight loss.0 -
Thanks again pals.
I will put my food scale to work and make sure to log my weekends.
Biker - when my trainer did the calipers it showed me at 24% but i know that is not correct. I think i would be happy at 24%. I'm going to ask him to do it again and have another trainer assist him and see what happens.
Jstout - 100% agree.
PMS is my biggest obstacle. :blushing:
I will update this thread in a few weeks. :flowerforyou:0
