Hi,

As some of you are aware, I have been selected to represent my organisation's sports and social club in a 3 day, 195 mile cycle ride to Stonehenge in September. I have just created (and am continuing to build) a profile on the Virgin just giving website and want to create a blog showing my journey to the start line as well as a journal of my experience during the ride, which will link to the account. So I am looking for a platform by which to set up the blog record my story and and supplement with regular updates using my smart phone whilst I am out on my rides. I would like to be able to upload photos throughout too.

I would also like to keep it separate form my MFP profile as I try to keep work related stuff and my private stuff separate, but this challenge will be one that cuts across both.

Any suggestions for where to host the blog would be gratefully received.

Many thanks,

Carl

Here's an idea. I use Wordpress for my blog. I've found a free Wordpress hosting site here:

You can update your blog using the Wordpress app for Android and iPhone.

Congratulations on a great planned ride. That is beautiful country (my family is a bit north in Northants). Wish I could join you!

I use Wordpress and have for years. It's free hosting if you got through Wordpess.com, there is a version where you can set up your own hosted blog as well, but with their hosting you don't have to worry about any of the back end infrastructure stuff. iOS and Android apps so you can update away from a computer. There's also Tumblr, for a very simple stripped down set-up.

Thank you to all those who contributed to this post. I have plumped for Blogspot as it is linked to my G+ profile more easily. I have a couple of days worth of entries. I'm new to this sort of thing, so would welcome any constructive comments to improve it. the link is carlbirch72.blogspot.com
