Anything in particular I should look for? I'm going to watch a class (since I'm pretty sure jumping right into doing one would kill me). They start a foundations class on July 1st, and apparently are pretty kid-friendly (I have two little ones who would have to come along when I go). I'm excited and nervous!

It's awesome..ask members question if you get a chance..it's tough at first but well worth the investment

Check out how the coaches coach. They should be pushing you but not overdoing it. Make sure they're correcting form. Try to get a feel of the overall vibe of the box. Mine had a definite feel of being welcoming, encouraging and positive amongst thr other members as well as the coaches. It can be pricey but you can get a lot out of it.

    Be aware of:

    1) Coaching style. Should be encouraging & demanding, but NEVER bullying or screaming. Ask about their other certs/experience as well. The coaches should always be engaged and actually coaching the class.

    2) WOD Scaling: There should always be scaled & modified options offered for all exercises in the WOD. They should also be walking you the class through the WOD and the exercise movements.

    3) Emphasis on Form: This is critical. Watch and see if the coach(es) are stopping people and correcting their form during the WOD.

    4) Camaraderie among the class: Are they encouraging each other? Are the more advanced athletes pushing the newbies to succeed?

    5) Environment: Open Bay? Closed Bay? A/C? Fans? Water fountains? Is the equipment in good shape? CF equipment takes a beating. Beat up equipment can lead to failure and injury.

    6) Ask members their opinions and experiences. See if the Box does a lot of community events. If it's just a bunch of individuals doing the WOD instead of a group the vibe gets thrown off.

Just enjoy it. It's definitely a different experience especially during a WOD with barbell work. LOL

One thing I highly recommend (if you sign up) is to take an hour or so on a day there aren't a lot of WODs and ask a coach to help you find your 1 Rep Max (1RM) for the different lifts, Back Squat, Front Squat, Clean, Snatch, Jerk, etc. This makes it much easier for you when you do the strength training and when you need to scale the WODs.

Lastly, if you drink the Kool-aid, you have to commit to it. CF doesn't work if you don't push yourself. Give it at least 12 weeks of 3x per week... 5x would be even better. You will see/feel such a difference in your body it is amazing. Yes it will suck. Yes it will be hard. Yes you will want to die. But you won't. You WILL get stronger. You WILL get leaner. You WILL get tighter.

    Now go...

AWESOME! Did they offer grape or cherry Kool-aid? LOL

Enjoy it. Just listen to your body and always practice proper form and safety and you will rock it. There's nothing like it on the planet!
