I'm new... And I feel lost.

I had a specific lifting plan I did for 4 weeks. In efforts to mix things up, I completely changed my workout routine. I researched and came across the 5x5 routine and it sounds really appealing to me. I'm not new to weight lifting so I'm just feeling lost as to where I should start with the 5x5 routine.
And also, should I do a couple of other exercises plus the 5x5?
I'm 26 years old. 144 lbs and somewhere around 25-30% body fat. If anyone needed those numbers. Looking to get under 20%.
Any advice would be sooo helpful!

have you checked out the sl site? it's extremely obnoxious in tone (negging aggro-bro attitude), but the basic information about doing the program itself is solid enough. i think this forum also has a FAQ sticky thread that could be helpful . . . and for daily stuff that comes up there's the 'daily workout' thread where anyone's welcome. that's where most of us report on how each workout went and sometimes ask any questions or express any concerns that we have.
aside from that i'm not sure what kind of 'where' you're unsure about. can you clarify at all?
as far as accessories, you always can do them if you feel like it. but there's no reason why you have to when you're just starting out. most people seem to hold off on modifying and diversifying until they've gotten themselves settled with the basic sl routine and they've begun to get bored or they're familiar enough to start identifying weak spots they want to address.0 -
Welcome! There are lots of supportive, helpful and knowledgeable women here. I'd recommend that you read the stickie for this group, called Stronglifts Summary. It explains the program well and has lift videos. I didn't do much accessory work until recently. I just stuck with 5x5 for a year. Now I'm doing Ice Cream Fitness, which is SL 5x5 plus accessory work. Maybe start the program for a week or two and see how you like it and then decide if you want to add accessories.0

Hello!
I think it's only natural to think 'surely i should do more?' when you start this, because it seems like too little, too simple. But it appears not! I think just start with the basics and do that for a while, then see what you want to do? That's what I'm doing, anyway...0 -

I agree... it almost seems too good to be true...0 -
I'm reasonably new to SL too but found the group on here really good for stickies, questions etc before I started, and the daily chat, goals etc threads definitely keep me on track to. See you in the group!!0
