Many team members who have enjoyed the activity-based Step It Up, IU Health wellness challenges during the past two years have asked about offering the annual challenge during the cold winter months--that time when you might be less active and put on weight. In response, Healthy Results will offer its 2016 wellness challenge this winter: Step to Give, IU Health, will run Feb. 1 - April 30. Step to Give focuses on giving back--to the community and to IU Health team members.

Tracker discounts

From Dec. 5 through Feb. 28, team members may purchase up to two trackers at the regular IU Health team member discount--trackers begin at $55. Click here to access the store (deals will not apply until specified dates).

Special deal for Tier 1 team members
Team members in the Tier 1 salary range qualify for a special offer: IU Health is purchasing 500 Fitbit Zips, which will be offered to Tier 1 team members free of charge, on a first-come, first-served basis. If your salary falls in the Tier 1 range, check your IU Health email inbox early on the morning of Dec. 7 for an email with your invitation and your personal promo code. Check Pulse and with your leader in early December for more specifics about this special offer.

Nominate a giving colleague for a free Fitbit Charge HR
In December, Healthy Results will give away a free Charge HR to 13 deserving team members. If you have a co-worker or colleague who exemplifies the spirit of giving in their daily life, send an email to wellnesscompetition@iuhealth.org between Dec. 1 - 18, with their name and work location, and tell Healthy Results why you think they deserve a free Charge HR. Winners will be selected via a random drawing.

Walk for a charity
Finally, when you Step to Give, you are raising money for a worthy charity. Rather than competing for prizes and trips, this challenge's participants will walk to raise money for one of three IU Health-approved charities--you select which one you want to walk for when you register for the challenge. Check the December and January issues of You Matter for more about the charities and how to join the challenge.

All Step to Give, IU Health participants who average at least 5,000 per day during the challenge will be awarded 300 health incentive points.
