Exercise tracking - calories burned accuracy?

I just used the exercise tracking feature on my Fitbit (press & hold the button) and then did 2 miles of run/walk in 30 minutes. When I was finished, it told me I had burned 250 calories. This seems abnormally high - I'm a small person (5'2" & 125lbs) and my Fitbit has that information. Does anyone know exactly how trustworthy this feature is?

You failed to mention which device - considering how many, always good to mention.
Why do you think abnormally high - what are you comparing too that you have experience with?
Or the number just seems high, but just because, no reason?

Using Gross option since that is what Fitbit or HRM or database or even treadmill would be reporting.
Between 145 for walking whole time to 213 if jogging whole time, on level service.
So depending on ration of walking/jogging - not that far off calculated - which can be more accurate than HRM.
So did your Fitbit think you went 2 miles during that time if step-based device?
How long have you been using it if a HR based device?
The feature can be very trustworthy if things match up.0
