If you upgraded your Fitbit for new features, what did you do with your old one?

I am still toying with setting up a second account to get a comparison, but I am wondering if one of my kids will want my Flex if I decide the ChargeHR is going to work out.

I set up a second account and wore both for a bit to compare them. Then I gave my One to my husband.

Out of curiosity, how did the comparison go? :)

The Charge HR gives a considerably higher daily burn and step count than the One. I don't want to say too much more because whenever I make a critical comment the thread seems to disappear. No idea if that is a coincidence.

I still like the Charge, but am working out some kinks with it. Basically, I believe it is overestimating my daily burn by at least 250 calories so I have changed my goal to a 750 cal reduction from 500 to balance this.

I gave my One to a friend. I sort of wish I'd kept it, though, since Fitbit now allows two devices on the same account. That way, I could use the One while my Charge HR is charging (sadly, it does need much more frequent charging than my One did) and when I'm grocery shopping (I hate missing steps because I'm holding onto the cart). But, I don't miss it enough to buy a second Fitbit just for that.

Put your charge hr in your pocket when grocery shopping!!

Also if you turn off "all day sync" the battery on the charge hr lasts longer

Yeah, I know I could do those things, but...

Once I put it in my pocket while grocery shopping and it fell out somewhere in the store! Fortunately for me, an honest person found it and turned it in and I was able to go back and get it. So, I feel better keeping it on my wrist. Instead, I've just gotten good at using the cart one handed most of the time. Plus, if you take it off and put it in your pocket, you need to turn OFF the HR function. Otherwise, it gets really bad readings.

Maybe I should turn off "all day sync" though.

I did a brief comparison when I upgraded. For me, yes the Surge calorie burn was higher than what the Flex and Zip gave me (I've upgraded twice  ). However, the calorie burn from the Flex and Zip was actually a tad on the low side for me (roughly 200 calories per day based on intake and loss comparison) and the increased burn on the Surge actually closed that gap.

My zip I ended up giving to my mom. I have my husband push the cart when I go shopping with him (he has a fitbit one, so pushing a cart doesn't cause him to miss steps), but if I'm by myself, I just don't worry about it.

Fitbit must really love us. My husband and I both started with Zips. I upgraded to the Flex and then the Surge. My husband upgraded to the One and is thinking about getting a Charge HR or Surge for when he's not at work (can't wear anything on his wrist at work).

I gave my zip to my mom, but we still have my husbands zip as a spare in case anything happens to the ones we are using. My husband had to buy a 2nd One six months after he got it, because his fell off while he was at work. He spent a couple weeks trying to find it before buying another one and during that time wore his old zip.

Oh and his zip has been through a couple wash/dry cycles and I managed to do that once to mine. They both still work though (bought in 2013).
