Hey guys, just curious as to what your training plans are for race season? I found this plan recently, and thought it was pretty good. Personally, I think it depends on the race whether or not you are fully prepared in 8 weeks, but I like the idea. Do you have a special training plan in place?

I work with an OCR coach. He tells me what to do each day. I do a LOT of running. Incline work. Grip strength. Lifting. Flexibility is always underestimated. You really need to be an all around athlete for OCR. I have phases to my training that peak me for specific races throughout the season, etc. Kind of crazy....but it's the only way I'll reach my goals :D

    I completely agree with this.

I do a combination of heavy lifting (squats, OHP, DL, and cleans), Crossfit, HIIT running and rowing, long runs, and yoga.

Here is an example of a badly designed "OCR workout." No grip training, and almost nothing that will help with harsh terrain. In fact, it is basically just an easy-ish beginner cardio routine.
