I cannot recommend this highly enough! It was so great to try out my make up and see how it would look, and it was great to meet our photographer and chat about the kind of photographs we wanted.

Sam, the pic looks super cute, very candid. You look so happy (as it should be)!
We did do the engagement shoot and it was nice to meet the photographer (even if you aren't doing a shoot, hopefully you get to meet your photographer in advance and talk about the kind of shots you want). We actually did two engagement shoots; one with my fiance's mom (who has a nice camera) for some pics for Save the Dates and then the 2nd with the wedding photographer (because it was offered free with the wedding package we chose). We would have liked to have the professional shots for the Save the Dates, but couldn't get them early enough. It was good to actually meet the photographer and I think helped make me more comfortable since we booked through the office manager without meeting the specific photographer we were working with. I did my make-up test for a party rather than the photo shoot, but definitely useful to get the test case in so you know what you might want to tweak.

YAY! I almost missed the special with this particular photographer (it's 80 dollars for a mini couples shoot--30 minutes) but she extended it for us and we'll be getting some photos done after our cruise next month! I'm glad you posted the idea because it forced me to think about it and actually make a move...I gotta nail down a photographer and maybe bounce some other ideas off of her... So BIG thanks @samlovesthesnow !

We've set our appointment for March 13th...should be fun! And if we get along well and I like how she runs the appointment we will probably ask her right then if she's available on our wedding date and if she knows of any videographers she likes working with...
If not, my Mom had a guy who did my Gram's memorial services so I might check with him as she seemed pretty pleased with him although he is new to it and does most of the editing and etc out of his home on his free time (has a day job) so it may take longer to get it done...
