Gay marriage

Here in Minnesota they just legalized gay marriages which I think is a huge step forward in overall acceptance of the differences that all people have. But it got me thinking. Do you think gay men have more estrogen than straight men? Or gay women have more testosterone than straight women? I am a believer that they are born that way. I don't think it is a choice.

its a shame that its taken this long for the USA to begin passing same sex marriage laws but at least its finally happening. i cant imagine how much joy it is bring to people.
as for the cause of homosexuality? i think the vast majority(well above 90%) of homosexuals are born that way. but i would think a very small few may have something that happens in life that tips them to the other side..and i think there are an even smaller few who choose that lifestyle for whatever reason.
but imo it really doesnt matter why they are that way they should have all the same rights as everyone else and i feel sorry for anyone who is against same sex marriage.0 -
I feel exactly the same way. There is no reason they shouldn't be allowed to marry. I have heard so many times that they are going to ruin the sanctity of marriage but I have known couples that have been together for 20+ years and are more than happy. Then we have celebrities that get married for a publicity stunt. IMO that is ruining the sanctity of marriage.0

The Biblical arguments are silly too. No one is forced to follow any religion in the states. Therefore your Bible or Koran or *insert holy book* is completely invalid as a reason why something shouldn't be legal. If you want to believe that homosexuality is against God then don't be gay. If you think pork is dirty then don't eat bacon. If you think it's sinful to work on Sunday then sleep in. But when you try to tell someone else that they can't work on Sunday, eat bacon, or have a gay marriage because it's against your religion then you've crossed the line.0

I still can't get over how long it is taking for the US to pass it country wide already....we have had legal marriage for everyone here in Canada for over a decade already!0

i think its funny that religious groups have such a problem with homosexuality but isnt gluttony a sin? you dont see anywhere neaer the same level of hate coming from religious groups towards fat people as you do gays.0

Don't forget greed. You can't fight to deny poor kids food and shelter because you don't want to spend an extra $1 in taxes and not be considered greedy. Yet you never hear them complain about the money hoarding 1%ers. If a poor person buys a steak with food stamps they are appalled. If a billionaire evades taxes of millions of dollars by hiding it in offshore accounts they want to make him President. Is that what Jesus would have done? I think Jesus would have done just the opposite and elevated the poor person who is struggling while chastising the money hoarder.0 -

As a Christian, my personal favorite is that nobody seems to be protesting divorce, although Jesus was CLEARLY against that, and never said a word about homosexuality, not a single recorded word.......when is the last time you saw a protest against divorce?? Those of us that actually listen to the words of Christ, are few and far between in the Christian community unfortunately....0 -
I think that the word marriage should be stricken from the books. Let everyone get civil licenses that afford them the rights and responsibilities. Then if they want some kinda ceremony they're free to do it.
But, marriage is marriage and I am not a fan of the term "gay marriage". It's akin to saying "black marriage" or "chinese marriage" or "nova scotian marriage." It's the same damn thing as anybody else gets.
As for the OP's question? All the gay men I know are utter and complete horndogs. Plenty of testosterone there.0 -
Horndogs!!! Love it. And I agree with you on stricking the word marriage out. I won't get married. I just don't think it is for me. But I do think that everyone should have the right if that is what the choose to do.0
