Going into my 13th week and so tired. I have no motivation to do anything, and that includes prepping my food for the week. Before I got pregnant I had a great little routine going my nails on the weekends, making tortillas for the week, slicing my fruit and veg, walking, but now that's all gone by the wayside because I just want to sleep. How do you ladies do it and more, especially the ladies with kids, when all your body wants to do is sleep?

It'll ease up. In the meantime, though, I'd suggest forcing yourself. The less we do, the more tired we are. Even a 20 minute walk after dinner will likely make a HUGE difference in your energy levels.

My first trimester I made a deal with myself: I'd continue my 5:30 AM wake up time. While I was at work (I teach, so I'm on my feet all day) I'd give it 100%. Then I'd cook dinner and do most of my normal household stuff. After that, I did SOMETHING most days. Sometimes a walk, or work in the garden, or just wandering thru town. From that point on, if I wanted to, I could go to sleep. And often times I did...at 7:30 PM. But most nights I was up and somewhat energetic until my normal 10:00.

Just know it'll get better, eventually. Talk to your MD or midwife too.

I listened to my body. With both my first pregnancy and this one I had fatigue like you are talking about. My midwife told me to sleep. It would kill me to stay awake until 7:30 PM when I would put my 2 year old down to sleep... once he was asleep, so was I. Honestly I couldn't find much that helped, your body is making another person which is rather amazing- so sleep if you body says to sleep. That extreme fatigue will be gone soon. Mine was much better by 16 weeks. Hang in there!
