How can one put up a running ticker? It's as clear as mud and would really like to see a visual!

Anyone have an idea how to put up one of those tickers onto a profile relating to the running goals?
I'd really like to see a visual related to my meagre efforts ...

    First Post on page 1 - about the middle of the post there is an "
    *******OPTIONAL TICKER************* " heading that will lead you through the process.

    Yeah, I tried to post the ticker to my mfp profile, but mfp doesn't do that. So I just post the link to it. I do post it at the bottom of my blog tho.
