College students experience stress on a daily basis. To help manage your stress, read this list of stress busting tools. If you have time, check out this link http://www.learnpsychology.org/student-stress-anxiety-guide/. It has a lot of great information on stress management for the college student and it even talks about how to deal with test taking anxiety as well as a quiz for measuring your stress.
.Get Plenty of sleep- we will talk more about sleep in week 4 but start recording how many hours of sleep you are getting each night, to increase your awareness. The National Sleep Foundation says that 18-25 year olds should be getting 7-9 hours of sleep each night.
.Think positive and reduce negative thinking
.Have a stress outlet or fun activity that you enjoy part of your daily schedule (intramural sports, a club, the fitness center, or meeting with friends)
.Find a relaxation technique that works for you and stick to it (prayer, slowly counting to 10, meditation, visualization or playing with a stress ball)
.Talk to someone. Engage your friends or significant other in a conversation about stress. Share with each other ways to reduce stress while in college.
