Getting help from your GP

I have an appointment on Wednesday with my GP and was wondering whether anyone here has any experience with this? Did you find it useful?
There is a specialist weight management service in the area I live which I meet the criteria for so I'm hoping for a referral to this.
Any advice or personal stories would be fab xxx

My GP has been awesome! She is my biggest cheerleader. I originally asked about weight loss pills and took phentermine for about 6 weeks. When I realized I could do it without the pills I stopped taking them. Since May I have lost 53 pounds. I love going to the doctor and talking to her, we even talk about clothes shopping! My old doctor retired 2 years ago and finding her has been the biggest blessing for me. Good luck!

Thanks Mindy :) The GP was lovely and referred me to the service but there seems to be a fairly long waiting list. My first appointment isn't until the beginning of May which is obviously quite disheartening. I'm hoping to try and get into the 200's by then so I have some sort of basis to build on. Wish me luck

I sent you a friend request. You can do this. Log everything and buy a food scale. The food scale is my best friend. Drink lots of water, some say half your body weight a day. I know that's a lot, when I started at 224 there was no way I could drink 112 ounces a day. I drink between 6 - 12 glasses a day. Get up and move, even if it just a short walk. The more you do it the easier it will be. Good Luck.
