Buying weights today!

I've had a barbell for several months, but wasn't ready to invest in weights. Today I'm driving to the city to buy weights! I'm only on my second week so I was thinking
2- 25#
4- 10#
2- 5#
2- 2.5#
My heaviest lift is the deadlift and it'll be 115# today, does that sound good? What weights do others own?
I'm going to look at the squat racks while I'm there. During the winter I could only have it in our basement and the max height would only be 72" so I'm not sure that will work.

I also have 2-35#, and 2-45#. I use my 1# wrist and ankle weights to go up by a pound at a time. Some people have fractional weights for this. But I have these and they are cheaper.0

We purchased a 300lb set with a oly barbell for 150 a few years ago. Then we picked up another 300lb of plates off craigslist a couple years ago for like $40. Couldn't beat those deals and we have more weight that we'll probably ever need.0

i'm thinking you might start to really want 45's after your deadlift gets to 135, which looks like it won't be far off. idk what you're doing right now to give yourself the right bar height, but i can really see it becoming a pain once the only reason you have to do it is because you don't have 45s - as opposed to not being able to lift them.. so if your budget allows for an extra set, i'd really think about that. alternatively there are the big 45-sized 'trainer' plates. those are 10 pounds each so maybe sub one of your regular ten sets for that. but idk anything about pricing.
i've been finding that i never use the 35s at the gym, and they seem to get the least love from anyone else either. so idk that i'd spend money on them. 10's are the most popular - never seems to be enough 10s.0 -
The 10's and 25's are the bigger sized bumper plates :-)
I got a squat rack too, and already assembled it! He gave me a great deal on everything. Now I'm hoping I can get a workout in after my kids get in bed!0 -
I just put my home gym together last month and I love it! I got a 300# set, including the bar at Academy Sports for $179. I had some nice weights picked out to buy individually, but I could pass up the price on the set.
Enjoy!0 -
That's a great price! The cheapest I could find them was $1.25/#
I've been stalking my local craigslist and garage sale boards but never saw anything for a better price.0
