Today I have a lot of my clearance appointments - 54 days until tentative surgery date! Pulmonary, gastro, and psych evaluation and going to try to "squeeze" in a mammo - just because I'm due for one! My cardiac appt was switched to Friday or I would have that today too! I foresee lots of waiting, but I packed a bunch of healthy foods to keep me going through out the day! Have a great day everyone! :)

Hope it all went well! That process seems to go on forever...appointment after appointment. Just when you think you're done...*BAM* another appointment! lol

You'll be there before you know it! Good luck!

I just wish I could do it off hours - haven't decided what I am telling work yet and it's not like me to take days off so it looks fishy. All my appts are an hour from work (near where I live) or else I'd try to squeeze it on lunch.

Well cardiac clearance wasn't as easy as I thought. I had an ekg which showed a murmur and dr now wants me to wear a Monitor for 24 hrs, get an echocardiogram and have a stress test done. Yikes!

Better to find all of that out now instead of something horrible happening during surgery or after! Good luck with all the tests!

absolutely! I am very happy with my drs, and how thorough the prescreening is. The aftercare program is 1 year, and looks like it is very supportive as well.

I'm curious, everyone is talking about having a cardio visit. I did not have that and I am curious if it was because my doctor did not think it was necessary for me, while she might have sent other patients. I have high cholesterol and a family history of heart disease (father -obese, smoker, dead at 50), but freakishly normal blood pressure and no sleep apnea.

Obviously everything worked out, but I am curious from an overall screening process.

I had the standard EKG clearance from my PCP. I'm sure if something came up there I would have been referred out. For my pre-surgical, I had blood work, EKG, upper GI, and psych eval. Everything else was through the bariatric office.

I had the psych eval and a physical therapist visit coordinated by the surgeon's office but at a different office. The shrink at her clinic did not take my insurance. I JUST remembered, I did have an EKG at my pre-op hospital visit along with a chest X-ray and blood work. I totally forgot about that! I also had a sleep study as well as getting up to date on a mammogram and Pap smear.

My primary is in a group with all specialists, so I am able to see everyone in the same office. I was supposed to have just an EKG from cardiologist for clearance, but they noticed something so he wants further testing. I had to get clearance from GI doctor and he requires an endoscopy, my pulmologist wants me to have a chest x-ray 5 days before surgery, I will also have to have blood work on my pre-op. I also did a mamo, and have my annual a few days before surgery. I have one more Nutritionist appt too!
