Hey guys. I've been doing NROLFW for months now and I'm embarrassed to say I never made it out of stage 1. I would do good for awhile then quit then do good then quit. I also restarted it several times. I have increased my weights through out this whole process.

I'm pretty overweight and not the most active person but I did stick with it, even if it was off and on. I have noticed some small body changes over the past few months which I'm happy about however, I found myself dreading the workout overall so I've been reading here and other places and I'm going to try Stronglifts.

I've ordered a bench and a squat rack which should be here either tomorrow or Friday and I'm going to dive in. I'm a little nervous but I am hoping this program is something that I won't dread as much as NROLFW.

Just wanted to introduce myself and let everyone know, I read here alot and am inspired by everyone's numbers. I hope I can get to even half of what some of you are doing!

welcome!! and congrats on the bench and squat rack purchase!! Cannot wait to have my own equipment at home!

A lot of people find that Strong Lifts is a great program to start with because it's only 3 exercises which makes it easier to stick with for many. Keep with it and update us on your progress in this thread as you get going :)

Be careful, though. Read and watch as many videos on form as you can. Read Starting Strength as well as everything on StrongLifts.com and the stickies on here. Your form needs to be really good and there is a lot to learn. I am not lifting anything you would call remotely heavy yet (65-75 pounds) and I've strained muscles twice. Not seriously, but enough to keep me out of the gym for a few weeks each time. Right now I can't yet walk around the house for very long without pain.
