Changing battery on fitbit zip

Hi there.
This is my 1st fitbit. It's a zip and it indicates the battery is low. This maybe a daft question but when do you change the battery? Do you wait until it stops working or should I change it now that it is indicating it's running low?

If it's showing on its screen that the battery is low, change it. When I had it there were several times when the app would say it was low, but it was actually fine.0

So once it shows on the screen of the zip itself change it?
