In the weekly Warrior Mini-Goal Challenge focus on your short term goals.

Focusing on one week at a time, when the big picture seems too overwhelming. Small changes can bring on big results!!

Choose one or more things you want to work on for just this week. Don't set it too high or unreachable!!

Please, make sure your week works for you. Sun to Sat or Mon to Sun, whatever is YOUR week!

You can reach your main goal if you break it into small actionable steps. It could be as easy as 1-2-3!

1) Choose something you know you can do easily.
2) Add more difficult tasks to your plan.
3) These small steps will get you started, motivated & help build routine for long term success!!

Anyone interested in joining us for another week, or a first week, or a get back on track week?

Check in often, have a great week and do the best you can! B)<3

Often we are so harsh on ourselves when others see only the beauty in us! We need to learn to love ourselves first to change ourselves and only then can we truly allow others in.

It makes one realize how absolutely vital our self-image really is and what a difference it makes in every aspect of our lives! Viewing this and really thinking how we self talk and view ourselves and what we might be able to do to turn that around.

I truly believe what we think of ourselves makes us or breaks us

Thanks Hearts!! I have to look at the U tube on my phone since I am using business laptop. Mines is a lemon and need to find out what gadget I want to purchase next. A tablet and/or laptop. I just do not see the need for both since I have a phone. But I don't think a laptop will charge my fitbit so I have to check into that.

I have a question for you regarding your knee surgeries. Was blood transfusions an issue? Did you have any blood transfusions?

Hi Molly :) No blood transfusions involved in my surgery... it was simply as could be. Regular surgery, out after a day or two and then Physical Therapy.

    Thursday Evening.. Oh My!
I certainly didn't mean to wait so long to check in...time has flown this week. Feeling a bit blue though.. wondering if it's the after surgery blues. One of my docs had me make an appt. as she shared often times when you have a major surgery you can be effected that way. She just wants me to check in next week so I think I will.

But here's something I thought of that may be causing it too... share with me what you think (DARN I wish we had all the ppl in the group we used to..hard to ask an opinion of 2 ppl :D but I'll go for it anyway) :p

Anyhow I've been off junk food since Monday and the weight has just dropped off..which means with no sugar and my body used to a lot of it when I binged in the past...wouldn't that effect my mood as well. Psychologically as well I mean? I guess withdrawal so to speak.. I just feel down a bit and chocolate makes me happy (OK, so not really). HAHAHA Well the first couple pieces do after that I feel sick and mad at myself for eating it and then tend to eat the rest because it feels like it doesn't matter.

Still in the progress of moderation with junk food... so I try to stay away from it and do much better when I do. Anyone else in this boat? Some can eat a piece of something and I have been able to in the past but not long term.

Anyone been where I'm at and worked through it and is now able to not have the food be so powerful in the mind?

Thanks for reading...sorry about the length.

    Hi Hearts,
I believe that both of your theories are correct. I do remember when I had major shoulder surgery, that I had times of feeling blue. Your body is still recovering and trying to figure it all at and it really is a trauma to your body. it is a good thing in terms of your life but the physical stuff effects the your mood. I also think that the junk food withdrawal from sugar etc will set you up for a dip in things. also is there any other things that go along with the junk food that have caffeine that might also effect it.

the suggestions I have are first, try to just get up and move a bit when you start to feel down or blue. even just marching watching tv will work. so chocolate has sugar and caffeine so definitely change your mood. I don't know all of your triggers etc, so I don't want to offer any suggestions. only thing that might be helpful would be something naturally sweet like fruit. strawberries are in season so maybe treat yourself to something like strawberries and cream or strawberries and whipped cream to take the edge off.

good luck and I believe that this too shall pass. Love to you.

Hi Hearts. Sorry you are feeling the blues. I agree that it's most likely a combination of the body trauma of surgery and the sugar withdrawal. Hang in there! I am also a binger and former junk food addict , and I can say that yes the junk food part can be conquered and get easier and easier. I was diagnosed with diabetes almost 4 years ago, which truly frightened me , so I did a major overhaul of my lifestyle. It was super overwhelming at first, and really hard for me, so I took it one step at a time. I can honestly say I truly no longer have the junk food cravings, except for ice cream still for some reason. But I don't keep any unhealthy foods in the house, either, or then I would have more trouble for sure. I'm like old Mother Hubbard with my bare cupboards lol. For sweet cravings, I keep Yogurt with fruit available ( I'm not supposed to eat fruit by itself or I would just do that) . And if I ever regress and do eat junk food now , I end up feeling so sick from it ( because my body is not used to it anymore) that it takes away the desire for it again. So there is hope- I promise!

Ohhhhh Forest and Seehe you both gave me so much hope reading your posts I don't even know how to thank you!!

I ended up binging with a bunch of junk food and ended up feeling quite ill. Same as you Seehe..I had been staying away from it so it really hit me when all the sugars/fats hit my system. But I've got a grip now and am feeling good and back on track realizing I really don't enjoy food that doesn't make my body feel good. Dropping the weight vs. eating cookies.... no comparison. Feeling so much more energy vs. cookies... again NO COMPARISON. ;o)

I love the feeling when you stay away from the artificial flavoring and then eat some berries or a peach or something that way. The flavor is as if you've never tasted one quite so good. They say the fake flavors and colors and all that chemicals added to pkg'd foods take away from really being able to enjoy regular fresh food.

I feel strong again, perhaps it was a combo as I had PT on Friday and am feeling strong and my incision is healing up so quickly. I imagine it shouldn't be more than a week or two before I'm ok'd for the pool. The weather has been Summer like so the pool has been sounding lovely to workout in.

Also the weather may have helped with the blues...I'm trying to do more... I feel like I can do anything now but then I remember not quite yet..after the end of the day when the pain hits me. The surgery seems long ago lol But I need to remember the inside needs time for healing... it's hard holding back from wanting to do things you mind wants to but your body says, no let's wait. I also need to remind myself it's been only just over a month now.

xoxoxo's Thanks again so very much for taking time to talk to me xo
