@CaptainBoing the brain is it's own boss and even when you want to move move move it make you sit on your *kitten* so it can heal. Just take it one day at a time.

@CaptainBoing Our health is a priority. Easier said than done, but try not to stress about your situation. Stress is not good for anyone's health. Read and learn more about how others deal in your situation. Ask your doctor if there's anyone who could be a support for you.

I saw neurologist today because I was getting worried and had such conflicting answers about what I should expect in recovery. It helps getting a specialist opinion directly. He put me on meds for three months to treat the vascular damage and suspects I should be able to return to exercise in a few weeks although full contact sport is out until September at least. With concussion it is often a wait and see approach, but I feel more at ease having seen him. I also have an amazing bunch of friends who are seriously supportive through this (the fact that two of them are also out of training due to injury /surgery helps as we bond over being broken!) Reading up on the meds he gave me, they do say weight gain is a side effect so I will have to watch my food, but it is also only three months!

@CaptainBoing Wishing you a speedy and full recovery.

@NewOR2015 Congratulations on keeping your commitment for a full year. That is no small task, let the celebration begin (even a few days early).

@2020pinktogo I mostly kept my hair shoulder length and cut it short when I started MFP in Oct2015. I needed a fresh start all around and now I can't imagine it any other way. More frequent visits to the salon are sometimes hard to fit in but I look fresh and put together every day. Go for it!

@MrsVelapanur Good luck on your interview tomorrow, we are rooting for a positive outcome!

    Have a great day everyone!

Thanks everyone but I decided to pass on this interview. I wasn't too excited about the district and the compensation, plus I just have too much to do before I leave for India on Monday. I did, however, have a great phone interview yesterday with another school district that I am very excited about. They have a wonderful mentoring program for first year administrators and I would really like to be a part of it. Keep your fingers crossed for that one, please. The next step would be a group interview in April.

I am fighting back a cold or whatever plague my students gave me and my hubby just left for India today. My mom gets in tomorrow to help me pack for my trip as well as pack up the apartment. My nutrition has been consistent but I haven't been working out much. My body feels very fatigued, even though my mind is all over the place with my mental to do list. Thankfully I finished my actual to-do list at work today so I am in good shape to be off as of Monday, returning to work April 4.

In our school district they would have parents partake on the panel during the hiring process. I was picked in each of my daughters schools elementary, intermediate, middle and high school. It was always very interesting. The principals called me the human lie detector they'd all laugh and say she doesn't say a thing and somehow they all blurt out stuff to her. LOL

Enjoy your holiday. Curiously, my brother leaves for India today for some work conference! It is such a small world.

It is a small world. I'm from Texas. Once, I went to San Francisco for one day (just one day) and while on a walk in Muir Woods I ran into someone I knew!

@CaptainBoing - Best wishes for a complete recovery, really quickly.

As for me, I have not done well with my goals during the past week and a half. Seems like each year when the weather starts to get nice, the will-power goes out the window. I think I just get restless and distracted a bit. That said, I have no intention of allowing the trend to continue. So this weekend I will prep for a completely wholesome next week and next week I will weed out those little things that seem to have sneaked back into to my life.

March 13-19 My healthy lifestyle bootcamp week!
    1. NO PROCESSED FOODS!!! (nothing multi-ingredient out of a box, can or bag)
    2. No alcohol
    3. Log food daily
    4. Get 7 to 8 hours of sleep nightly
    5. Plan meals and execute plan (even the snacks)

@JMarcella57 I'm joining in with your idea of a boot camp week to kick off Spring and get on track to be Slimmer by Summer! I am maintaining my weight loss but need to move on and lose more. My top five goals are slightly different than yours:

    1. No garlic bread for dinner no matter how tasty my husband makes it
    2. No sweets
    3. Log food daily
    4. Exercise every morning adding an evening activity (take advantage of having more daylight)
    5. Plan meals and execute plan that is within calorie goal

Thank you for the encouragement. Have a great weekend!

My meds have already made an improvement in 24 hours! Hoping that by the end of the weekend I can be symptom free and start the countdown to a gradual return to exercise. The best side effect of the meds is that I sleep so well that I am really resting thoroughly which is really good for my recovery. Today was a bad food day but I did get to spend most of the day at my friends house with her 12 day old boy who is a leap day baby! He is so cute! Next week I will hopefully be a bit more active in that I can be out and about more even if I can't do any actual exercise.

I'm doing the opposite of @JMarcella57 and @Living360. It's my spring break, and I will be enjoying myself this coming week. I have learned enough this past year to know that I can continue my journey to better health after my week off. The road will still be there.

@CaptainBoing so glad the meds are making you feel rested. Babies are always something to enjoy. Especially when they are someone else's you get all the fun and they get all the hassle.

Already did my exercising this morning and now just have to get my fanny moving so I can go get my hair done and then off to work I go. Now I'm a little worried as I'm so excited about my hair I just hope she does it the way I want and doesn't mess up. My normal hairdresser is out again and I'm using my backup person. But I have a picture so it should go well. Plus I'm having a good case of spring fever this morning. Thank goodness I have a well what I consider a small mid shift at work today but If I feel this way who knows if anyone will show up and I'll probably have to work extra. LOL

have a great day everyone and happy packing @MrsVelapanur !!!! :)

Beautiful day today with spring-like weather. It's going to be a great weekend. Too bad I'll lose an hour when I "spring forward".

I hope everyone else is having a good weekend as well.
