Thanks for joining! Let's introduce ourselves -

I wanted to take a moment to thank the first few of you who have joined this new group so far. My name is CJ and I will be sure to post again tonight with a bit more information about myself and why I am here. . As you can probably imagine, I am in my 20's and currently classified as obese; but of course there is more to me than that. :) I would like to ask everyone who feels comfortable to go ahead and introduce yourself, as well. Please feel welcome to provide as much or as little detail as you'd like to; I hope that we'll all feel like real friends soon enough. :)

Until later, Lovelies - Have a great day!

Hi, I'm Katie. I'm actually 29, so soon I'll be out of my 20s but I still joined if that is ok wirh you. I've been overweight my whole life and I'm currently at my heaviest ever. I really need to make a change and I'm committed to leading a healthier life.

I really hope this group grows because I would love to have others my age supporting me as I support them!

I'm 24 years old, female, and currently weigh 234.5 pounds. I joined MFP 6 days ago, but my lifestyle change began 5 days ago. In 4 days time I have lost 1.5 pounds! I got a gym trial, and am getting the membership this friday!

As of right now I eat between 1100-1200 calories a day, take a women's multivitamin daily to make sure I get proper nutrients, eat clean, and workout for 1.5 hours of vigorous cardio. Since I am not even 5'2" and have a super small frame, I hope the first 50 pounds fly off!

The line between healthy and obese for my age and height is 135#, so I have to lose at least 100 to be healthy. My ultimate goal is to get down to 115#, so a total weight loss of 120#.

After only 4 days in the gym, I can already see minor changes in my mood, energy, hunger, cravings, and body. I have a ridiculous amount of energy now when a week ago all I would do is lay on the couch and eat processed foods. I'm not really hungry anymore, but I can tell when my body needs fuel. Also I crave veggies, and maybe 1 twizzler (40 calories- boyfriends grandma gave me a 2lb bag for Christmas!!) a night to finish off my daily calories and get my sugar fix. With my body, I can feel my upper back tightening, and my flat tire is already fading away. Plus, the stretch marks are fading! So even though the scale says I only lost 1.5 pounds after 4 days, I know my body is transforming under the fat!

I really hope this group is active, and I hope to post my weight loss milestones in increments of 5! I've dished out all my details in this first post, hoping to help others feel comfortable enough to do so.

I'm done with being obese. I'm done with the shame. I'm done with hating the reflection in the mirror.

    Here's to us!!

    Hi, I am Acacia
I'm 25 and need the support of others around my age. Feel free to add me as I give mfp another shot. Hopefully this time I can hit my goals. I plan on losing 150lbs in whatever time frame that means.
