Klipsan (Letha) and BigChangeNeeded (Jenni) two very determined ladies and few others have posted on other threads about some interesting groups, books, plans they follow and ideas for future challenges etc.
So I thought why not have a thread dedicated to sharing things like that.

*This will not be about debating rights and wrongs about what anyone else is doing.

It will be a place to share things that are working for you, help you, that you would like etc that may benefit others in this group.
Tell us about and post here links to other groups on MFP or anywhere that you have created or that you belong to and find helpful. It was really easy for me to create this group, anyone can set up a group for a specific challenge or special interest and post link here. Tell us about great books you find inspiring or programs you found helpful. Tell us about plans you are following and why/how they help you.
The pathway to success will be individual for each of us, what works for one might be opposite of what works for another. It is good to know what is out there. So let the sharing commence :)

    Good idea. Thanks.
For those of you with physical limitations like me, or those on the injured list, I thought I’d share some of my favorite seated workouts.

I have 3 DVD’s from Jodi Stolove’s Chair Dancing Fitness:

Chair Dancing Through The Decades (My Favorite)
    www.chairdancing.com/chair-dancing-through-the-decades/

Chair Dancing Sit Down and Tone Up
    www.chairdancing.com/chair-dancing-fitness-presents-sit-down-tone-up-encore/

    Chair Dancing Simply Stretch
    www.chairdancing.com/chair-dancing-fitness-presents-simply-stretch/

    ==============

The Chair dancing videos are each about 45 minutes. When I’m feeling less ambitious I often do a shorter SparkPeople seated exercise video which are available free online.

    SparkPeople 11-Minute Chair Cardio Workout
    www.sparkpeople.com/resource/videos-detail.asp?video=38

SparkPeople 9-Minute Seated Arm and Shoulder Workout
    www.sparkpeople.com/resource/videos-detail.asp?video=39

    SparkPeople 12-Minute Seated Core Workout
    www.sparkpeople.com/resource/videos-detail.asp?video=42

Sorry I couldn't figure out how to make those clickable. I'm new to MFP. :)

Hi @Klipsan I made your links clickable in the quoted text above, hope you don't mind.

If anyone is unsure of how to make their links clickable, you'll just need to turn them into 'hyperlinks'. You can do this by writing your post, selecting the hyperlink function, which can be found here:

You just need to paste your link into the box that will pop up,

Hit 'OK', and you should then see something like this:

Your link should now be clickable once you post your reply

Here is a website I've been thinking about signing up with:

    https://worldwalking.org/

If you're a step counter, like me, then you can add your steps daily, and it will not only tally them up, but you can add them to 'walks'. It could be something simple like London to Paris. You'll add your steps each day, and it will tell you the distance you've walked between two points. There's even a 'Around the World' walk on there, but that's a little far for me right now, ha ha.

You log in with an email address, and then you choose your walk. I think you can only do one walk at a time though.

This is what it looks like when you log in to the 'Walks' section:

You can search for a walk, or just scroll and pick one that takes your fancy. There are some really long ones, and some that may only take you a week or so to complete:

This is something I was thinking about using if people here fancied doing a group step challenge. If anyone counts time exercised rather than steps, you could use the average adult step speed to gain a rough estimate and add that to the total.

BigChangeNeeded - What a great website. My partner will be walking the Camino de Santiago, 540 miles in 44 days starting May 24th, so I had to see if that was one of the routes and it is.
    https://worldwalking.org/route/qsygf3

I think any of those trips would be very fun. I found a website that gives a step equivalent for various activities.
    worcester.ac.uk/documents/Activity_to_stept_converter_downloadable.pdf

I think from this chart, that Cycling, stationary (light), at 145 steps/minutes, is closest to what I do with my seated aerobics. I do 45 minutes of seated aerobics every day. If I did that could I count it as 6525 steps on your challenge?

That's a great chart, absolute perfect for the challenge, thanks for sharing

And yes, that sounds about right, we can certainly count those steps in. Here's the thread for the group challenge: community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10359664/a-team-challenge-lets-work-together-and-achieve-something-fun
