My favorite is asparagus, roasted and sprinkled with a little bit of garlic and black pepper, and if I have it a tiny bit of Parmesan.

At the moment mine is omlet with veg.0

I'm not sure if counts as 'healthy' food, but I have tinned sardines or mackerel in tomato sauce on brown toast (no butter/spread). I just mush the fish up, spread it across the toast, and its done. Its around 400 calories, but for me its good for any meal of the day.
I used to have really unhealthy breakfasts, and still be hungry two hours later. When I have this for breakfast, I'm good all the way to lunch (and sometimes more), no snacks needed. When I'm having a busy day, and only have time for a small but filling dinner, its perfect.0 -
Big change needed , i don't thank that would be bad for you unless the salt content is high.
Obesitywarrior omlettes yumm do you use the whole egg or just white0 -
I use whole eggs in Omlet with a little coconut oil , salt , pepper0

My favorite stir fry is 4 Oz of Chuck roast, 4 Oz zucchini, 4 Oz onion, 2 Oz button mushrooms, 2 Oz snow peas, 1 Tablespoon coconut oil, 1 Tablespoon Chinese black bean chili oil (laoganma), dash of Himalayan salt and fresh ground black tellicherry peppers. Very satisfying and filling with less than 700 calories. I precooked the Chuck roast so the grease had drained out. I also cooked it with 2 Oz Chuck roast and it was almost as good just less protein.0

2 large bananas cut in one fourth slices dip each slice in orange juice place on parchment lined cookie sheet sprinkle with cinnamon bake at 200 degrees for 3-4 hours till nice and dark and crispy. Flip over halfway thru. One of my coworkers brought to me for a treat only 200 calories even if you eat the whole batch. Keep in airtight container they keep well unless you eat them all0

I like Mary McDougall’s recipe for baked yams. I can eat these hot, cold, or at room temp with nothing on them. I used to make a whole pan of these, but now I just make one at a time.
1 Large Garnet Yam (reddish skins and a deep orange flesh)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Scrub the yam and cut into quarters.
Place in a single layer in a dry baking dish, skin side down. Cover with parchment paper, then cover the baking dish with aluminum foil, crimping it over the sides to hold in the steam. Bake for 1 hour, 10 minutes.

AnimalRob: That stir fry sounds delish!! Im adding black bean chili oil & zuc's to this weeks shopping list!
Klipsan: I have baked yams 1 or 2 times/week! Its filling & I find it satisfies my occasional, yet almost overpowering craving for sweet potato pie!

Eggs. And I'll eat them anyway I can get them! Scrambled, hard boiled, omelette with veggies... Yum!!
I cook in just a little olive oil usually.0 -
I've been doing a mixed berry smoothie with kale, Chia seed, and plain non fat yogurt. Depending on my mood I dress it up with oj and a banana though a lot of the time I don't. Good fiber a bit of protein and lots of antioxidants.0

I love Smoothies, my favorite is made with almond milk, strawberries, spinach, 1 tablespoon of mini chocolate chips , ice and half of a frozen banana.. got to check to see if it runs my blood sugar up though..

Ditto! Eggs were the first thing I identified as being a must on my diet - a plate of scrambled eggs and toast are one of the few meals that always leaves me feeling full for several hours (one of the keys for maintaining my self control).0 -
I find myself eating a lot of eggs also and beetroot.0

Thank you!!0 -

My go-to breakfasts: A slice of whole grain toast with either 1/4 of an avocado, smashed (no butter), some salt, cayenne pepper, and dried roasted garlic bits. OR A slice of whole grain toast with around 25 grams of Camembert cheese (and usually 1 tsp or so of butter because I hate dry toast.
On days that I still feel hungry, I'll cook myself one whole egg. I grease the pan lightly with butter and then make a sunny side up/"dippy" egg (as we call them in Western PA, anyway). After the whites mostly set up, put in 1-2 tbsp of water, cover and steam cook. Most people make them dippy/soft by only steaming until the whites on top of the yolk are white, but I prefer my yolks medium. This is usually more like lunch, since I wait a couple hours after having my toast. For lunch most days I just eat fruit, pickles, or leftovers, though I'm trying to avoid having leftovers.
My go-to dinners are: Tilapia coated with seasoned bread crumbs (or coconut flour if I have it and want it to have less carbs). I don't dip in any eggs or milk or whatnot. The fish is wet enough after thawing that the crumbs or flour stick. I either bake these with a little butter or coconut oil and some garlic or sauteed in a hot pan with coconut oil, for only about 2-3 minutes per side. I wrap the baked ones up in foil pouches and pop them in the oven at about 350-400 F for about 15-20 minutes. We also get these great pre-marinated pork steaks that I just cook in a really hot, dry pan. I make whatever veggie I happen to have and occasionally potatoes in some fashion (Germans love their potatoes, my boyfriend is a native, and we live in Berlin so... we end up having them more than I probably would otherwise). Most common veggies in our house are zucchini or frozen Brussel's sprouts. I dump them into a baking pan, drizzle a bit of sunflower oil, so they brown, and season with salt and cayenne pepper then bake around 400 F for 20 minutes, tossing them in between if I remember. I also tend to make bacon on the days we'll have Brussel's sprouts, and then skip the oil and just toss bacon fat into the pan with the sprouts. Tastes great and since my body prefers a low-carb high-fat diet, it works great for me.
Snack foods that keep me happy AND healthy: Fruit... I love honeydew, mandarin oranges, and kiwi. Milk... I find it really satisfying on evenings when I'm craving something after dinner. It fills me up and is savory while also being a little bit sweet . Garlic pickles (ohhh the pickles in this country are fantastic) are also an easy to grab snack for me and I find that the vinegary taste that they leave makes me not want other food for a while.0 -

I my veggetti so much too. Lately I've also been doing carrot 'noodles', steaming or microwaving them for a couple of minutes & then adding them to my chicken soup. It makes the soup more filling, and adds in a few more veg to my daily count.0 -

I've been doing loads of soup too lately. Right now mostly chicken noodle due to being sick, but also made a yummy carrot soup the other day from this recipe:

I found I can lower the butter slightly, and replace 1/3 of the veg broth with water, without sacrificing flavor/texture too much, to have a good sized bowl for about 100 calories.0 -
Oh my goodness! This looks delicious! Thanks for sharing, I am definitely going to try this out

Lately I really like Chickpea hummus with lime, salt, pepper. I dip brocolli, carrots, celery, sliced mushrooms, and sugar snap peas in it. I eat a bunch of food and it's 500 calories. The hummus I get has the brand name "food should taste good". Their black bean hummus is great too and they have a chickpea and lentil hummus with curry which is really good. The only one I don't recommend is their white bean hummus because it is 1000 calories.1
