Goals

So what are your fitness goals? I am trying to lose weight (next small goal is 9 pounds to pre-baby weight), eat better, and exercise more.
This week I am trying to use my fitbit every day, and track all my food. Next week I will add in doing ttapp (a 15 minute exercise program). I'm trying to make small changes slowly so I don't get overwhelmed.

Thanks for starting this group! My goals are to lose about 15 pounds and to get fit. At my age (60) getting fit is important. Once I'm back from convention, I plan to really start exercising on a regular basis. I try to track what I eat, but haven't been on here in months. Think I just get involved in other things and forget. I hope that the support of fellow demos will help us all reach our goals.0

I started using MFP six months ago and have lost 24 pounds. My weight loss has been slow and steady and I feel like I am doing it "right" for the first time in my life. My New Year's Resolution was to become a runner (I have never been a runner or been very athletic). I started using the Couch 2 5K app in January. When I started, I struggled to run one minute at a time, but I kept at it and finished the training in two and a half months. On April 27th, I competed in my first 5K and now run that distance on an almost daily basis. I can't say that I LOVE to run, but most days, I don't mind it. Sometimes, I actually look forward to my runs.
I recently met my first weight loss goal, which was to get back to the lowest weight that I was at when I dieted three years ago. I did not exercise at all when I lost before and was not focused on fitness. I simply wanted to fit into smaller clothes. This time, I want to be fit and healthy. Now that I have met that goal, my next goal is to reach the lowest weight that I have been since becoming a mom. When my eight-year-old was a baby and still nursing, I dieted and got down to a weight that is about nine pounds lower than where I am right now.
I also want to continue running and train to compete in a 10K sometime soon (spring at the latest).
That's where I am right now. I have really been proud of the changes I have made. Best of luck to everyone who is starting their journey. Know that there will be good days and bad days and just keep moving ahead. Don't let a bad day or week get you down. Just pick up and start again! You CAN do this!0 -
Marla 25 pounds is amazing! Plus, how great to reach your running goals. I definitely understand the desire to be fit instead of just skinny.0
