Need help securing bike to cargo carrier

Hi Everyone,
I don't post here much, but I read the boards quite a bit. I have a bit of a problem that I haven't been able to solve on my own yet. I have a hitch-mounted cargo carrier, with a bike rack adapter on it (Google Ultra Fab Cargo Carrier and Ultra Fab Bicycle Cargo Adapter to see a pic). I can't figure out how to secure my bicycle (Lexa Trek) so that it is secure. There's nothing on the car that I can secure the bike too.....just the cargo carrier. I've tried using a tie-down strap hooked to the carrier on the side near the car, wrapped around various points of the bike, and hooked on the far side of the carrier.....but the bike wobbles back and forth and that doesn't seem secure. All I can envision is the bike ending up on the road instead of staying on the carrier. Any suggestions, or websites I can look at? I've tried searching online, but I can't really find anything.
Thank you for your help!

I have no idea how you could secure a bike on that unless it was upside down. it looks like it's just for boxes and luggage and stuff. Good luck on finding the answer...it is puzzling.0
